Happy Samba; Greg Abate: Greg Abate © Greg Abate Music/BMI.  Rhythm is the name of the game here-rhythm and that special sense of total involvement that marks all great jazz playing.  There's a happy inevitability about Happy Samba.  Greg Abate's driving alto style is a natural match for the sinuous Latin beat, and he glides effortlessly through the sambas, rumbas and mambos that grace this set.  A review about Greg
Evolution; Greg Abate.  All compositions by Greg Abate (BMI).  It's a challenge to do a whole album of originals, these tunes all mean a lot to me.  I am really happy with them - and with the way my life is going right now.  A review about Greg

Shakey Legs 1971; Nick Lauren, Teddy Demos, Tommy Enright, Michael Sorafine and Jackie Bruno.

Shakey Legs was, in a way, the remnants of the Boston area Apple Pie Motherhood Band, since two of it's members Ted Demos and Jack Bruno were part of the group. Bruno by the way, would go on to play back up for Tina Turner and Joe Cocker. It was also around this time that Paramount signed another Boston group, Milkwood which included future Cars members Rick Ocasek, Benjamin Orr, and Greg Hawkes. Shakey Legs though, is a solid effort and it's a shame that these guys didn't have the success they certainly deserved. (from AcidArchives)
